I think there may be one (or two) D-A-D full headlining shows in New York on March 9th and 10th. I hope some die-hard American fans will make the trip. Could be confirmed within the next few days.

It's on, folks! I am proud to have helped set this up. D-A-D will play two shows in New York. My band, Streetlight Circus, will have the honor of opening both shows. The first is on Saturday, March 9th at Revolution in Amityville (www.revolutionli.com). You can get discounted advance tickets through me at http://www.streetlightcircus.com/events.html
The second is at The Studio at Webster Hall on Sunday, March 10th in Manhattan. You can get tickets here: www.websterhall.com
CAN'T WAIT TO SEE THE NET PETS WHO TRAVEL TO THE BIG APPLE FOR THESE SHOWS!

Cool! Glad you got a couple shows there. I'll have to just catch their Austin show.
Take lots of pictures!

So is the New York a Headlining gig?
What about Austin, TX. show?
Posted: Tue, 2013-02-05 04:55
No set times have been posted for the Austin show yet. When it gets closer I'm sure they'll finalize who is playing when.
From what I understand, both of the shows in the New York area are headlining shows with net-pet rumbledog & his band opening both of those shows.

According to the Texas Rock Fest site all acts get half hour sets. You can come to New York and see two consecutive full D-A-D headlining sets and, yes Ptah, you will see a die-hard D-A-D tattooed fan opening both shows with my band, Streetlight Circus. We have discount tickets available and more information at www.streetlightcircus.com. I hope a bunch of you come and make the trip and help us pack these New York shows. I have already received ticket orders from Washington, Arizona, Maine and Virginia. I am so psyched that people are planning to travel to see D-A-D. These shows are gonna rock!

Hey rumbledog
I'm very happy for you
I would love to make the trip,
but unfortunately the flights are a little bit too expensive.
Kind regards from Germany to USA , Steffi

I cannot thank Rumbledog enough for making this show happen. My band-mates and I have been die hard D.A.D. fans since No Fuel came our in 1989. We actually are playing our own show on Saturday night march 9th in Northern Illinois, and then we are hopping in our van and driving all night to see the show in new York on the 10th. This is a show we have waited for forever, it's truly a bucket list show we would not miss!

Southview - my real name is David Shaw (feel free to find me and/or my band on FB). I'm the lead singer and bassist for Streetlight Circus. Please find me before or after the show and let's have a drink. Very excited that you're making the trip. This is gonna kick ass!

Hey U.S. fans, there's still time to get your advance tickets for the Long Island D-A-D/Streetlight Circus show on Saturday, March 9 at Revolution in Amityville, NY. Please go to http://www.streetlightcircus.com/events.html and grab your tickets today! The response has been incredible with many people traveling from out of state for these first American shows on 3/9 and 3/10. Let's make N-Y-C rock with a D-A-D party! See you in a few weeks!

When I get there, you're gonna have to tell me how you helped make this whole thing happen. I bet there's a great behind-the-scenes story waiting to be told...

Hey Rod how can I contact you ? (It's Rose-we spoke during the chat with the band) I'm going to the show on the 9th.
Posted: Sat, 2013-02-23 05:07
Hey Rose! Have you gotten your tickets for the March 9th show yet? If not, please grab them from us at http://www.streetlightcircus.com/events.html. You'd be helping out a D-A-D-lovin' independent band and saving some coin at the same time. Looking forward to seeing you at the show!

Lol yes I bought two tickets online the day they went on sale. Now it's a matter of can I actually make it? I haven't bought a plane ticket yet because my husband is telling me if I go alone our marriage is essentially over. He doesn't care who I go with though. I hate him for making me choose :,(
If I knew they were coming to Canada it would make my life so much easier but I'm guessing its not going to happen so its a matter of choosing, DAD or a miserable marriage. I've dreamed of meeting DAD like most girls dream of their wedding day. Pretty sad huh?

So has the travel arrangements with Rod & wife gotten you out of the doghouse?

I've already emailed you.

It's great that the guys finally play the US again after 24 years and I'm really happy for all you fans overseas that you get a chance to finally see them live again. But I wonder if it's really worth flying over for 4 gigs ? What the band needs now is an opening slot for a 4 - 6 weeks extensive US tour with a band that can fill arenas. I'm aware that this might cost money but there must be bands out there who won't let their opening acts pay to play.

My hope is that in 2014 D-A-D comes back and plays the spring/summer festival circuit in the States. The should be playing M3, Rocklahoma, The South Texas Rock Fest, The Monsters of Rock Cruise, The Great South Bay Music Festival, Rock on the Range and some of the other fests that draw big crowds. It would be the best way to introduce them back to the states. Unfortunately, bands that play arenas here might be reluctant to take on a band that they perceive as not being a big draw. If D-A-D can establish themselves on the festival circuit and by doing some more clubs around the country then doors might re-open here. It is such a shame that more of America didn't realize what they had in this band when they had the chance. I count myself among the lucky ones who "got it" from day one.

Whatever way they're doing it (or might do it), I think this is the last chance for them to set a mark in the US. They will never break big there but if they could fill clubs with 500 - 1000 people at the end of the day - this would also be a career. The question is: is there someone who is willing to invest in the band first before money will be made ? Hard to believe nowadays, if you ask me. I keep my fingers crossed...........

I am going to the first NY concert! I wouldn't miss it for the world! I may be going to the second and hoping they play in my hometown of Philadelphia. It's a 2 1/2 hour drive but worth the trip!
Posted: Fri, 2013-02-15 01:47
damn, forgot to log in first... Is anyone else going to the NY shows?
Posted: Fri, 2013-02-15 04:09
Lots of people coming in for the NY shows. I have sold tickets to folks in Washington (state), Maine, Illinois, Arizona and Virginia. If you haven't gotten your tickets for the Saturday New York show, please order them (at a discount) from me at http://www.streetlightcircus.com/events.html. See you there!

What I am interested in (obviously ;-): is there anyone who is going to RECORD any of the US dates ?????
Posted: Mon, 2013-03-04 22:30
Hi there,
I'm taking pictures at one of their shows in Austin, Tx. I've seen video from past years at this event on the Rockfest site, so I'm sure they'll be video taping this year's shows too.
***Update - emailed the organizer of Rockfest. He replied the following concerning video of the D-A-D show...
"Davetv.org always tapes the headlining performances and post them on his youtube channel."
...so, there you go!

Trying to make both shows in New York. Only going to work if my ex works out a trade for kid-weekend.
Uggh. I HATE asking that bitch for ANYTHING.

Hope you make it! Get your Amityville, NY tix from me here: http://www.streetlightcircus.com/events.html

Ok.
Airline tickets are purchased and so is my show tix. I'm flying in from Michigan, for both shows.
Rumbledog, I didn't even think to puchase thru you, until it was too late. Sorry.
I still have to book Hotel/Motel and rental car I guess. Any recomendations? (Not sure what transportation is like out there)
I'm stoked.
If any of you want to meet for a beer or two, let me know.

Hey man, glad you're coming regardless of where you go your tickets. If you're on Facebook find me as David Shaw. Message me and I can see what I can help with in terms of hotel and transportation suggestions.

Posted: Sat, 2013-03-09 20:37
Only 6 or 7 more hours 'til showtime :-). God, I wish we could be there. The first US show since 1989. I hope that everyone who is going will have a great time. The boys will rock the house, so give 'em all your appreciation and tear the roof down.
Just felt I should tell you
