Jesper made a biography about him self and his life: http://www.g.dk/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductDisplay?catalogId=10002...
Whataya think?
I've tried to translate what it says on the site:
Even though Jesper Binzer is only 46 years old, the leadsinger in the Danish rockband DAD experienced more than most since the band was formed in 82. Following the bands 30th anniversary on the Danish rock scene he now tells these stories through his rock-memoirs. In "I Won't Cut My Hair" he tells unpolished and honestly about a life ine the fast lane. It is the story about big hits, even bigger record deals and concerts in DK and foreign countries. But it is also the story about depression, addiction, therapy and financial problems. In other words it is a trip behind one of Danish rock's biggest personalities' facade. Jesper explains everything unsentimentally and reflectively. The book shows his thoughts on why his career went the way it did and how it is possible to pull yourself back, make a new record succes and keep the artistic integrity, when everyone else didn't believe them. The book is highly illustrated.

one can allways argue whether or nor it's bad to advertise for a book like this on the bands own site, but how come fans allways have to dig out these news?
Posted: Wed, 2012-05-09 18:52
Where else would you talk about a book that is being co-written by Jesper Himself??
If this is not the place to go for d-a-d news, then where is?

Will there be an English or German translation ?
What an interesting and fascinating story Jesper's must be.
Please say YES, someone!

Moin Moin,

Uh, that's interesting news. I'd also enjoy reading this, so a translated version (english or german) would rule alot. By the way - Jesper picked a phantastic title for his work

Can't wait to read the book
Posted: Mon, 2012-05-14 18:44
I must admit that I look forward to read it too. I think it will be really interesting and give quite in insight in one of my favorite bands. I also enjoyed reading the dirt, the heroin diaries, the one slash wrote and so on.

That's awesome! I am definately gonna pre-order it. And like Spacehead said: It's a very suitable title. I can't wait!
Posted: Thu, 2012-05-17 17:46
I am sure that it's gonna be a real treat for all the fans!
At this point D-A-D has an iconic status, and some kind of looking back and telling the stories is obvious, so it's a great idea for Jesper to write a book.
And hey.... he might even earn some extra money doing it
I am looking forward to it too, and will by it for sure!
Posted: Fri, 2012-05-25 11:35
The word addiction appears in the announcement of the book.
But... I wonder what kind of addiction?... Yes i know D-A-D in their early days has smoked a lot of grass but was it such a huge problem that it got into addiction???
I'm still wondering... do i miss some important knowledge about D-A-D and jesper binzer???
Posted: Tue, 2012-05-29 22:06
I'm still wondering when it will be released?!
Posted: Tue, 2012-07-31 07:51
Push... any news on that topic? Is it already released in DK? Anything 'bout a translation?
Kind regrads

No it hasn't been released anywhere YET! But according to the online music and movie store Gucca.dk, it's going to be released on 4 October this year. I just can't wait!
And on top of that, the photo book with pictures from the Fast On Wheels Tour will also be released this fall.
We didn't get a live album this time, but we sure got a lot of other just as cool stuff to be looking forward to!
BY THE WAY! On Gyldendal's website (http://bit.ly/NivvvF) the biography on Jesper costs 300 DKKR, but on Gucca's website it only costs 250 DKKR. So unless you've already preordered it on Gyldandal's, I'll suggest you preorder it here: http://www.gucca.dk/boeger/i-wont-cut-my-hair_198502.html
Regarding to the shipping costs, it's only 30 DKKR on Gucca!

Tak @ The Evil Twin. So I'll order it at Gucca.
edit: Oh no
Gucca deliver not to foreign countries

Can anyone say if the book is written in English ?
If yes then I will order in advance.
Posted: Wed, 2012-08-22 19:50
It's only written in Danish
Posted: Wed, 2012-08-22 22:33
That is a shame.
Thank you for info.

Too bad...
Posted: Fri, 2012-08-24 02:51
Interesting that they sing all their song in English, yet the book is in Danish. Any chance someone out there who buys this book can translate it into English?
Otherwise, I say we start a push to get an English version printed. I would like to read this book someday....
Posted: Fri, 2012-08-24 11:13
Maybe we shall write a petition for an english version

couldn't read Michael Monroe's biography because it's in finnish, and now can't read Jesper Binzer's biography because it's in danish (jeg taller lidt dansk, ikke nok endnu til at læse en bog!)... i should listen to more american/british bands haha

I try to read the book with the help of a good old dictionary beside me...haha..

Have anybody received theirs yet? I'm still waiting for mine, which was preordered from this site
Posted: Fri, 2012-10-05 16:44
I finished the book last night. Overall it's very well written, and you really feel that Jesper is letting it all out there for the reader. You get a pretty clear sense that when it goes up for D-A-D it goes up for Jesper, and when it goes down for D-A-D, Jesper goes down with it.
Another good thing while reading is always to have "Brændstof til drengedrømme" in your mind - from time to time, there are many crossovers between the two books.
In my opinion the second half of the book is by far the best.
At the very end you really get the feeling that finally Jesper has settled and is in more or less harmony with himself and the relationship between being in a band and managing a family.
Please listen to "Fast On Wheels" when you've just finished the book - it'll complete the experience! (Really - DO IT!)
Thanks for a nice reading experience - now I'm on to "On the road" and "De stjålne liv"
Regards
Klaus

Can't wait to read it! Did you order it from this site?
Will definitely follow your advice, excited to see how it will complete the reading experience!

Thanks to Klaus for the "review" - now I'm even more frustrated that the non-danish readers won't have a chance to experience this ourselves.
Kind regards,

waiting for my book
Posted: Sun, 2012-10-14 01:15
So I just finished the book last night, after I've been reading it for 5-6 hours staight & I have to say that I have a lot of respect for Jesper.
I think it takes a lot of guts to tell about something that's been so painful, which he does very honestly & openminded.
The book's a great example of some of the bumps we hit on the road, when we're growing older - the heartbreaks, the mistakes, family life, who we really are.. just to name a few.
Overall a really great book!
Posted: Sun, 2012-10-14 01:23
Btw I agree a lot with The Marlboroman's comment/review!
There's a lot of crossovers from the "Brændstof" book in the 1st half of the book. But the 2nd part is the best.. it's quite impossible not to be caught by it & feel with Jesper during the stuggles & battles!
Posted: Sun, 2012-10-14 07:19
...any word yet on an English version of the book? I'd really like to read what Jesper has to say...
Posted: Wed, 2012-10-17 13:04
I also finished the book by now. Liked it a lot. It is told very honest - and sometime touching - and it is really Jespers own personal storie.
I would love the hole bands storie as well! I bet they all could contribute with a lot of funny memories and stories, that would crack us all up
Anyway - my respect to Jesper for sharing his private storie. Thanks a lot!
Love Keila

Remember the book is not about D.A.D, but about Jesper Binzer himself and maybe it's therefor it is not translated to english?
I've just finished it, and its a good one - but I would loved to read more about there friendships in D-A-D. But once again, its a book about him, not the band.

Hi! I am skipping most recent comments of fear of spoilers
Is anyone else planning to go to the Bogmesse in the Bella Center on Saturday?
http://www.facebook.com/events/481013888585910/
I intend to buy the book at the Bogmesse in order to get it signed - does anyone know if that is possible (to buy it)?
Do you know where the signing session will be? I have read somewhere that it will be after the interviews (there are two live interviews)
If anyone wants me to buy a signed book for you then let me know. I will not charge more than the actual book price + package and postage. Send an e-mail at uma181@yahoo.co.uk.
